Calm pregnancy

Great physical and mental wellbeing are paramount during pregnancy. By staying fit, happy and healthy you reduce the risk of having a complicated pregnancy. However, it isn’t always that simple.

Pregnancy can be an extremely exciting time, but it can also be a tiring and challenging time for expecting mothers. There are many complex changes happening to the the female anatomy whilst she creates and grows life inside of her. One of which is that a ladies lung capacity increases, and during the last trimester the uterus begins to press on the diaphragm as the baby grows, which can cause shortness in breathe.

In most cases the types of issues women experience during pregnancy are ones that we can easily remedy, some of the most commonly reported include:

  • Backache
  • Morning sickness
  • Heart burn
  • Anxiety
  • Hormonal changes

How can solution-focused therapy help?

Hypnotherapy can help in pregnancy and childbirth for Mum, Baby and birthing partner in many ways such as:

  • Experiences increased peace, calm and relaxation before, during and after birth.
  • Labour often begins spontaneously and less need for induction.
  • Birthing stages may be shorter and has been known to be pain free under deep self induced trance.
  • Bonding has started during pregnancy and then continues in a calm, natural way after birth.
  • Automatically takes an interactive, supportive and constructive role before, during and after birth.

What to expect from solution-focused therapy sessions?

During sessions you will learn about the following:

  • The brain and how to keep anxiety to a minimum.
  • The role of positivity and chemical response.
  • Physiology and neurology of pain.
  • Self-hypnosis to practise at home.
  • How your birth partner can support you.

The first meeting would be a consultation to better gage our client’s individual needs and what they hope to achieve from the sessions.

All sessions are positive, empowering and relaxing.

Remember that a calm birth doesn’t always mean a nice soak in the birthing pool with your favourite music playing and lit candles in the background, your calm birth should and can be whatever you want it to be.
